Baptism

An Outward Expression of an Inward Change

What is Baptism ?

Romans 6:4 states that “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life”.

Baptism is an important step in every Christian’s life. In baptism, we are immersed in the water and raised again as a picture of death, burial, and resurrection. Just as Jesus died on the cross and rose again from the dead, we are choosing to die to our old way of life and living a new life in Jesus.

When we trust in Jesus Christ, our hearts are changed. Baptism is a way of letting the world know that we are followers of Jesus. Baptism is not a requirement of salvation, but a step of obedience to Him and becomes our public profession of faith, that we love, serve, and want to follow Him.
